Likely to be a Maine Coon mix, Cheeto is a gorgeous, confident and sweet orange tabby male, with copper-colored eyes, medium-length coat, beautiful ruff, fluffy tail, and white bib and mitts. He will greet you at the door with a big purr and an invitation to give him a good scratch or to toss a toy for him. Rarely have we seen a kitten as comfortable in new environments. Cheeto even enjoys going out to pet store adoption fairs, where he finds the hustle and bustle of shoppers, gawkers, kids and even dogs to be interesting and amusing. A cage at an adoption fair is just another place for some fun and play. And this boy loves to play! Toy mice don't stand a chance with Cheeto on patrol! Cheeto is also accomplished at playing games on an iPad, but we have to get some new apps--the old ones are too easy for him! And after play is done, it's time for a nap, cuddled up with you or a companion cat in your household…this beautiful boy loves the company of other cats and people.Cheeto is healthy and full of energy, yet is considered a special-needs cat. Through his mother, Cheeto was exposed to a virus (FIV, or feline immunodeficiency virus) that could supress or weaken his immune system, making him more easily susceptible to infection (colds, etc.). He is not 'contagious,' and needs no meds, treatment, or special care, other than being an indoors-only cat. A good quality diet and a happy, indoor life with you is all this entertaining kitty needs. He would enjoy life with a mellow, friendly cat, or with another FIV-positive kitty, though is perfectly happy being an only cat, with lots of attention and affection from you.The Fine Print — While Community Cat Rescue would love to make our adoptable cats and kittens available to everyone, everywhere, we must limit our adoption service area to San Francisco Peninsula cities and towns. We simply do not have the volunteer-power or financial resources to make home visits (required for all adoptions), delivery of adopted cats/kittens and follow-up visits outside the Peninsula. An occasional, rare exception might be made, but it is not the rule. Please note: Cheeto has tested positive for FIVCheeto is a Special Needs catIndoor onlyMore information & application
