Please contact Lissa (email@example.com) for more information about this pet. Peter: 4 years, Neutered male, 53 Lbs. Peter was allegedly abandoned in a remote countryside. Despite food scraps can hardly be found in that area, Peter waited at the road where he was dumped for his owner to return rain or shine. As time went on, Peter?s body worn out by starvation, his ribs protruding through his skin he was emaciated and still waiting for his owner who would never come back for him. A kind woman in the neighborhood empathized with this gentle and loyal dog, wanted to help him find a new home. Unfortunately Peter escaped before arriving at the foster home, seemingly wanted to go back to wait for his owner. The woman felt deeply sad for Peter but she never gave up looking for Peter. Finally, 5 months after Peter was missing, while she was checking information online about the pound\'s recent impounded dogs, she shockingly saw Peter\'s picture on the euthanasia list of the pound. She rushed to the pound and saved Peter from death row at the last minute. But her heart sank when she saw Peter- he was covered with bite wounds from being attacked by other dogs during the overcrowding impoundment. He was brought in for immediate treatment. Slowly but surely the infected wounds healed up nicely in foster care, however hair may never grow back on some of the much severe wounds now scared on his thighs. But Peter is unfazed by the ordeal, he remains a confident and affectionate dog who is very easy going, friendly with dogs and cats, except he needs to be fed in a separate room so he doesn\'t guard his food from other dogs. Peter loves all people; he is very gentle with children. He warms up quickly and is one of those dogs who steal your heart once you meet him. Peter is very devoted to his caretakers; he is such a gentle soul who will make someone a very loyal companion and great family member. Could you be that someone to give him a forever home he so deserves?
