Nerina: 1year, spayed female, 33 Lbs. This girl is Nerina. She just followed the students into the classroom one day, very friendly and playful! As the rescuer was just admiring her cuteness, it suddenly hit her head that her superiors at the school are not big fans of stray dogs and that she might not be very safe here! Lo and behold, there came one of the senior instructors with broom stick in his hands hitting the little pup, in front of the students, in an effort to try to shoo her outside of the classroom! The rescuer felt so helpless because we as a society have failed the very basic instinct we have as human beings to be caring towards each other, including the animals and to demonstrate the worst example of how to treat a homeless animal in front of children! Because it was during the rescuer?s class time, all she could do in that moment was to go pick up the puppy and put her outside of the school, at the same time praying that she would be staying in the area so the rescuer could go check up on her and feed her later when the rescuer was done at school~ After the rescuer finished her classes, she went out to look for Nerina. The rescuer saw she was being tied up outside of a convenience store with a very short string to the point that even if she would just sit down, it could choke her! The rescuer asked the owner of the store if this puppy belonged to him, and he said no. He simply found her trapped in a ditch a few days ago and had been giving her some food since then. While the rescuer was talking to the store owner, one of his friend who lived in the area came up to the rescuer, saying if the rescuer wanted this dog, to take her away ASAP as she was being a nuisance in the neighborhood for dirtying the environment because she would urinate and defecate on their streets! Because the neighborhood has a lot of people that are not friendly with stray animals, and a lot of labor worker from South East Asia who consider dog meat as a delicacy, the rescuer was afraid to leave Nerina there to fend for herself, especially with her sweet, social nature. She would just go right up to people with complete trust, not knowing the hidden danger that she could one day be poisoned to death or end up on someone?s dinner plate. Therefore, the rescuer decided to take her home, and then try to help her find a forever caring home! Hope there are people can offer her a chance to live a good life~ Videos and online application are available on AHAN?s site, please go to www.ahan.org, click picture of the dog you are interest or ? more info? to see the videos and ?apply? to link to our online application Temperament - Alpha_______ or submissive __X_____ Energy level very high_____high_ __medium_X__low____ Does the dog get along with other dogs at home?__yes____in a public place?_yes_____ Is the dog Skittish (afraid sudden noise and movement, will try to get out of collar when scared) __No___ Shy dog is just shy, not afraid of noise or sudden movement, will warm up faster than skittish dog__No__ Is the dog people friendly_yes__, children friendly__yes_, Does the dog bark continuously when left along? __No____chew a lot___No___ does the dog gets along with cats ?___yes_____ housetrained or not?__yes______outside__Ok____or newspaper___X___ Good walk on leash or not?__yes_____any basic training? wait Is the dog afraid of man?___No______ How is the dog with new environment?
