Lola is a gorgeous, Domestic Shorthair female. If you look closely, you will see black tabby stripes in her silky, ebony coat. Lola is a teenaged kitten, who started out feral and has learned to be a relaxed and trusting housecat. She loves lying around on the bed in her fosterer's house, or sunning herself on a tabletop or windowsill, loves her cat tree, and engages in play with toys and with her kitty companion. She is curious about everything, as she was not born into a life of privilege…or into a house. Lola loves to be petted, likes to be where you are, and also enjoys the company of other cats.Lola came to us when a managed colony of feral cats, of which she was a young member, needed to be relocated when the property where the colony was maintained and fed was sold. The new owner would not allow the colony to continue to live there. Volunteer trappers caught the cats and moved them to various new situations. Lola was intended to remain a 'street cat' in a new location, but one of our volunteers offered to shelter Lola and a few other cats on her property, and took an immediate shine to shiny Lola and decided to try to turn her into a domesticated housecat, which happily did not prove difficult at all.Lola's report card grades, in short order, went from D's and C's to B+++, and she has nearly achieved A's! The only thing that keeps Lola from straight A's is that she takes a little time to warm up to new people; but, once she does, she showers them with attention and love and nonstop purring. If you can help continue Lola's education towards her Pp.D…Perfect Pussycat Degree…click 'Adopt Lola' above, complete and submit an adoption application, and arrange to visit Lola at her foster home…or meet her at one of our adoption fairs.Lola is ready to be adopted into your loving home and heart. She would love to join your cat-wise household, especially if it contains a mellow, playful, and sweet young adult cat as a companion and playmate for her.The Fine Print — While Community Cat Rescue would love to make our adoptable cats and kittens available to everyone, everywhere, we must limit our adoption service area to San Francisco Peninsula cities and towns. We simply do not have the volunteer-power or financial resources to make home visits (required for all adoptions), delivery of adopted cats/kittens and follow-up visits outside the Peninsula. An occasional, rare exception might be made, but it is not the rule. Please note: Lola needs a playmate in her new homeIndoor onlyMore information & application
