We do adoptions in different areas of CA and Las Vegas *NO CA: We will be doing adoptions next on Saturday, January 12th 10:00am - 6:00pm at the Bay Area Pet Expo at the San Jose Fairgrounds. Look for our group in booth #25 and the dogs will be in the Super Adoption Area. If you want to meet a specific dog you must submit an application. Otherwise the dog you are interested in may not be at adoptions. *So. CA: We do adoptions by appointment once an application has been submitted. *Las Vegas: We will set up appointments with our Vegas adopters once an application has been submitted and interview completed. *Please see note at the very bottom of the page regarding adoptions. * All dogs are spayed or neutered, shots current (DHPPC, Bordatella and Rabies), heartworm tested negative and are microchipped.* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application.* We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted.* We do not ship our dogs for any reason.* Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy.* If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue Patty L. is a 3-4 year old JRT mix who weighs about 10lbs. She has a long wire coat which doesn't shed but does require regular brushing so as not to get tangled. Patty gets along with other dogs, is fine with cats but needs an adult home. She's scared of kids and won't be a good companion to them. Instead she's a great option for a retired couple, a single person or someone who wants a dog who is quiet and mellow and can be a total lap dog. She will initially be intimidated in a new environment and will require someone who is experienced and confident with dogs. She's not a great option for a first time dog owner but rather finds her confidence with someone who is dog savvy.Patty is very sweet and loving once she is settled in a loving environment with folks who love dogs and will help her build her confidence. She's an option to live in an apartment or condo setting as she's not a barker. She won't require a large yard (or realistically any) as she's not high energy. She could do well on walks as long as folks aren't coming up and trying to grab her or bending down into her space. We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)*If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
