We do adoptions in different areas of CA and Las Vegas *NO CA: We will be doing adoptions next on Saturday, January 12th 10:00am - 6:00pm at the Bay Area Pet Expo at the San Jose Fairgrounds. Look for our group in booth #25 and the dogs will be in the Super Adoption Area. If you want to meet a specific dog you must submit an application. Otherwise the dog you are interested in may not be at adoptions. *So. CA: We do adoptions by appointment once an application has been submitted. *Las Vegas: We will set up appointments with our Vegas adopters once an application has been submitted and interview completed. *Please see note at the very bottom of the page regarding adoptions. * All dogs are spayed or neutered, shots current (DHPPC, Bordatella and Rabies), heartworm tested negative and are microchipped.* If you are interested in a dog, please first read the biography on the dog (keep scrolling down for the bio!) and then go to our website, www.dpsrescue.com for an application.* We do not have a facility. All dogs live in foster homes. Arrangements to meet dogs occur after an approved application has been accepted.* We do not ship our dogs for any reason.* Our adoption fee is $400 for each dog/puppy.* If it is on a weekend of our adoptions, follow us on @DPSRescue on Twitter to get real time updates on our adoptions. We will also post at the end of the evening the names of those dogs who have been adopted: www.facebook.com/DPSRescue Tweetie is a 10 month old Maltese-Yorkie Terrier mix. She weighs about 10lbs. She has the wire coat which often happens when these two breeds are mixed. She is very docile and gentle. She is shy and needs a home that has an open lap, loving heart and wants to give her lots of love. She absolutely loves her foster mom so we know she will bond with her new family when they are loving and devoted to her. She is a total lap dog. Because she is so docile, any dogs in her new home need to also be gentle and kind and not an aggressive or dominant nature. She would end up being picked on. She lives with dogs currently who ignored her initial skittishness with them and now they are all friends and love playing in the yard.Tweetie is an option to live with cats. She is an option to go with older kids who have a quiet or mellow disposition and/or are accustomed to shy dogs. She would not do well in a rowdy rambunctious type of home where she would easily be frightened. Tweetie is crate trained. She is learning to use a doggy door.A healthy pet is a happy pet! We want to make sure if you are interested in a dog that we have the dog at adoptions but that can only happen if you fill out an application ahead of time and are pre-approved. (Generally this must happen prior to the weekend)*If you are wanting to submit an application within 24 hours of an event, please print off the application and bring with you as well as submitting it. You may still submit it and if time and volunteers permit, we will contact you. Most applications submitted the weekend of adoptions are not responded to until after the adoption weekend.
