“Share Your Story” is a series where we feature your stories about the cutest pet in your life. We want to hear your pet’s story and what makes them special to you. Today’s “Share Your Story” comes from Rachel H. in Burlington, MA.
This is my beautiful Jack Russell Terrier and Chihuahua mix, Chip.
Chip was born, and lived on the streets until he was 8 months old. He was then taken into a shelter and shortly after, was adopted by me!
He had aggression issues when he came home and didn’t behave well around other dogs at all. It took around a year to completely train his aggression out of him.
While training his aggression out of him, I also began teaching Chip complex behaviors. I started posting videos of Chip’s tricks on YouTube to show others what a quick learner he was and how shelter dogs that are aggressive can be turned into the most loyal and loving family members.
He now has fantastic manners and people cannot believe that he came from a shelter!
