Lexus is known as the luxury car branch of Toyota. However, that doesn’t mean that Lexus isn’t capable of putting out a brilliant sports car…or supercar as it likes to be called.
Development on the LFA began way back in 2000 with concept cars coming to auto shows not long after, but Lexus didn’t get the LFA to production until December 2010. Lexus took orders for the exotic beast beginning in 2009, but allowed only a select audience to purchase the vehicle.
The LFA comes with a ferocious V10 engine that pushes more than 550 horsepower and can jump from zero to breaking most speed limits in less than 3.6 seconds. Lexus’ first attempt at an exotic comes with a carbon fiber-reinforced polymer body, which accounts for part of the reason the car had a base starting price of $375,000…and that’s not even circuit-tuned variation ($445,000 base).
Only 500 of the Lexus LFA’s were produced with production ending at the end of 2012 and the price tag for the 2012 Lexus LFA is quite exorbitant, but just listen to this thing hummmmmmmm…before getting pulled over and ticketed:
