The Aston Martin Vantage has been around since the late 1970s with the company introducing the model in 1977 after new ownership took over earlier in the decade.
The Vantage got a huge boost in the mid-80s when Aston Martin became the vehicle of choice for the famous British MI5 agent James Bond. Bond, played by Timothy Dalton for the first time, drove two versions of the Vantage V8 Volante — a hardtop and convertible.
But it was the 2009 Aston Martin that redefined the model as it added more horsepower to help compete with the Porsche 911 Carrera and the Audi R8. It provides both power and luxury in a seductive and slim package.
“Besides its exclusivity, the Aston Martin V8 Vantage roadster offers precise handling dynamics that make you feel like a hero when you’re carving through mountain roads, luxury accommodations that allow you to drive in a relaxed and confident manner through busy traffic, and a sensuous shape that begs you to caress its tapering flanks.” — Automobile Magazine
