Cool Car of the Day: 1966 Pontiac Tempest

The car that spawned the GTO.

The Pontiac Tempest began as an entry-level compact when it was introduced in 1961, but moved up to the intermediate size in 1964.

By the time, this 1966 version of the Tempest was around, the Pontiac GTO has already been introduced. The popularity of a high-performance model of the Tempest beget the GTO, making the Tempest a more affordable option while maintaining the great looks of the muscle car.

But that doesn’t mean the Tempest is absent of any muscle. It has some giddy up and can still burn them out:

This 1966 Pontiac Tempest appears to be in great shape and is just waiting for you to take it home.
